About the Project

The RESIST curriculum, created by the Jewish Partisan Educational Foundation and funded by the State of California, is an interactive online course aimed at helping teenage students understand and resist antisemitism. Through lessons focused on historic events from the Holocaust, the curriculum fosters empathy and equips students with tools to stand against hate in today’s world. RESIST engages students through webquests, interactive lessons, and quizzes that explore key moments in history, the impact of antisemitism, and the importance of empathy and allyship.

Design Approach

Designing RESIST involved the unique challenge of creating interactive elements—such as games, quizzes, and submission activities—that could encourage meaningful reflection while remaining accessible and engaging for students. The interface combined historical textures and worn elements with a clean, modern aesthetic to connect today’s youth with the weight of history in an approachable way. By aligning with California’s educational standards and responding to user feedback, the final design achieved a powerful blend of immersion and usability, offering students a deeply impactful learning experience that highlights the relevance of empathy and resistance against hate.
